The uterus sits between the rectum and bladder in the pelvic region. There are eight sections to the uterus: the cervix, corpus, fundus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, tissues, endometrium and myometrium.
The first three basically refer to various portions of the uterus:
The cervix is the lower portion of the uterus. This is where the thick mucous plug develops to protect your baby from infection. One of the first signs that your baby is coming is your mucous plug falls out. You probably still have 24-48 hours before you go into labor at that point.
The corpus is the middle portion of the uterus. It is broad in size and expanse.
The fundus is the top portion of the uterus. Think of your uterus as being an upside-down pear. The fundus is the inverted bottom of the pear and it remains dome shaped throughout the pregnancy.
The others five are ancillary sections of the uterus. The fallopian tubes stretch to the ovaries. They stretch from the two top sides of the uterus.
As your pregnancy progresses, your uterus shifts upwards so that it presses on your bladder. It will continue to push upwards about 1 cm each week of your pregnancy for quite some time until your belly "pops" and you look pregnant.
If you want to try to feel your expanding uterus, it is easiest to do that if you lay on your back and feel your lower abdomen - above the pubic bone but below the belly button. Its sort of hard and if you get to the edges you can feel it end - like it rolls inward (like a little hill).
The thinner you are the easier it is to feel. It also helps to wait until your bladder is full. This presses the uterus out a little further and makes it more obvious.
Good luck with your baby! I'm half-way through the 1st trimester right now myself- can't wait. =]

The uterus, a.k.a. the womb, is below your stomach and hence below the navel.
The uterus will be the thing that got slightly bigger whenever you had a period.
Your bladder is in front and slightly below the uterus, so pretty soon you'll find yourself having to urinate more often.
At first the uterus will be mostly fluid, with the baby swimming around. At around four months the baby will be big enough for you to feel his or her movements at times, but still small enough to shift position easily. At some point (here's where I'm foggier--ask a medical professional) the baby should be upside down, so that the head is the first thing coming out when the baby is born.

Below the belly button. The baby is in your uterus.
If you take both hands and place them to either side of your belly button and sort of below, that is generally where your ovaries are. Your uterus is located halfway between your belly button and where the hair on your pubis starts. As the baby grows, the uterus expands. It gets more obvious exactly where the baby is. When baby is about 4 months, you will be able to feel where he is and what he's doing. Napping, kicking, playing on your bladder like it's a tampoline, etc.

Lay down on your bed on your back. Start at your pelvic bone, pressing firmly but gently down and moving upwards in a straight line towards your belly button. You will feel a hard ball. That is your uterus where your baby is growing. At 9 weeks I am going to guess that it is the size of a grapefruit. Your uterus should reach typically your belly button around 20 weeks into your pregnancy.

At 9 weeks your baby is bellow your belly button. It in still behind your pelvic bone. Think of it in your hairline" for now. The further along you become you will feel a "hard spot" just above the bone. That is your Fundus. As the baby grown you will feel this getting higher on your belly. Your innards will begin the upward shift at this point. The firmness above your belly button is this mass of innards making way for the growth of your baby.

Your womb should be pretty much directly below the belly button and above the pubic bone. I can be difficult to feel at this point in the pregnancy. Maybe you could ask your midwife or doctor to help you feel it at your next exam.

If you are 9 weeks, the baby will still be below your pelvic bone, which is under your belly button. As the baby gets bigger, the top of your uterus will grow and will eventually be right under your ribs.

If you are less than 15 weeks, it is below the belly button in your uterus..when you have an ultasound, ask them where exactly it is at that moment, they will be glad to tell you if you can not figure it out by looking at the screen..after that, the baby moves so it is all over

At this point in your pregnancy your baby is at least a few inches below your belly button. The baby is always located inside your uterus but as your uterus expands, you will find that the baby is in a different place in your belly.
