You do not have to convert.
The Catholic Church allows marriage between Catholics and non-Catholics.
Because the Church recognizes the tremendous challenge that the interfaith couple will face, they may have to get permission from the bishop.
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 1633-1637: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2chpt3art7.htm#1633

Yes....
I don't think you realize what Catholics believe. You will have to pray to saints, think of the Pope as God on earth, confess your sins to a priest, constantly be in fear of losing your salvation (because they believe that), pray for dead people though it's too late, and so on....
And if you ever try to leave the Catholic church they will excommunicate you and tell you that you are going to Hell because you aren't Catholic....
I'm not sure that's such a good idea....won't she go to church with you???? Probably not because she believes her church is the only way. She believes in works salvation. She believes the Pope is the ultimate authority on earth. She believes that she needs a priest to forgive her sins and doesn't understand Jesus did it for her (if she's ever accepted Him and actually been saved)....
This might be something you should seriously talk about before you get married....or it may become a serious source of contention between you two later.

are both practicing members of their church?
usually a couple gets married in the woman's church.
Catholics have a wedding mass. marriage is a sacrament and considered very important. it is forever.
it does not mean you have to convert. but it is a part of her religion. these things should be discussed in premarital classes, which is required.
BUT if getting married in a Catholic church is causing a problem now, you may need to address the future as well. are you planning on having children? will they be baptized in the Catholic church? how will you raise your children?
sounds like there is more going on than just the marriage ceremony.

No, you don't have to convert. Your wife-to-be will need dispensation, and since you'll likely follow custom and be married in the woman's church, you'll have to go through all the Catholic marriage prep. There is more of it because we Catholics consider marriage to be a sacrament, but it's really cool and Christ-centered, so don't worry.
Only she will have to promise to raise the kids Catholic. You simply have to agree to have kids. :-)

Not necessarily. You may have to attend "marriage sessions w/ the priest" , and you will have to agree to raise your children as Catholic. Check w/ Her specific church to see exactly what the requirements are. Good Luck !!!

You'll have to jump through a lot of fiery hoops, and it will probably change your view on religion.......
My dad was over 50 years old when he married my Catholic step mother. The priest handed him a thick packet of questions regarding his past, his sex life, and so forth.
A lot of crap that had no bearing on religion, or anything else that was any of their damn business. And it also wanted to know if they planned on having kids and raising them in the Catholic faith......
Sorry, but when it comes to religion, no matter what sect you're associated with, it's a cult.
