There are a lot more female gamers than you may think.
I've been playing since I was a baby, starting with Atari. (When I was a year and a half old, I could beat my parents!) I remember spending my entire saved-up allowance to buy a Nintendo. I don't have a lot of the current consoles, although I want a Wii. Usually I play online games, primarily World of Warcraft.
My boyfriend does not like video games, so I only play when he's busy or watching football.

Girls don't exist on the internet! Why do you lie!?
lol, I'm just kidding. I think the reason that guys don't acknowledge girls playing games is that most of them just can't accept that girls can be gamers. Especially online like WoW or CS, guys tend to get ticked when they get owned by a supposed girl gamer. Rather than concede defeat to a member of the "inferior gaming race", guys just accuse you of being another guy. I guess all us guys are just racist pig-dogs.
BTW, I'm sure you know MMORPG also stands for "Many Men Online Role-Playing Girls." :)

I'm a 34 yr old gamer. My husband is a gamer, my 11 yr old is a gamer, and my 3 and 1 yr olds are wanna be gamers! I play WoW all the time, not too many others, but I have a ton of experience playing other games.

Definitely. In my start up days guys were nerds if on the computer. The origional ones stunk because you had to put in tons of code to do a few seconds of anything. Much better now! I have a few girlfriends that play, but your right mostly guys, especially in online play or at the net cafe's. Hope this helps.

There's lots of female gamers. I know hundreds of them personally in Everquest2 alone. There's entire girl gamer squads for Team fortress. It's becoming more acceptable for girls to play games, so your ranks just keep going up daily =p

Yep, and I'm 26. I play too much WoW and xbox. I have a completely free day today and instead of cleaning or shopping or whatever, my goal is to beat Assassin's Creed, lol.
