1) What do you most like about school? Why? The oppourtunties they give us for every subject 2) What do you least like about school? Why? The bully! even thought every school has one 3) What makes it hard for you to learn in the class room? (distractions, work is too hard, don't like the teacher, etc.) Distractions! show off class mates trying to be funny and get attention 4) What is your favourite subject and why? most likely TAS working will all the equipment to make a designed product is very rewarding 5) What is your school lacking? (sports, computers, etc.) How does this affect you? computer...we have to do everything in pairs... 6) Have you ever been bullied? yes... 7) If yes, who helped you through it? Did you need help from the school (teachers, staff, students etc.) that you feel wasn't there at the time? no one has helped the school counsellors arent very good 9) If your school principal gave you the choice of what to spend the school's money on to repair or purchase anything that benefits your education, what would it be and why? better guitars instead of the shitty plastic ones 8) Is there anything else you are unhappy with about your school? (think: are there enough drama presentations, sports clubs, social events, etc.) maybe if they had more creative arts programs that would be great 9) Does your school wear uniform? Are you for or against uniform? Why? (think: do you get too cold, too hot, do you feel comfortable in it, etc.) i think our uniform is lovely, bright coulored and perfect for all the seaons =) 10) If your school had a 'homework club' where you can meet with friends and do and discuss your homework, would you attend if it were after-school hours? Why/why not? yes and i do attend it when i have to catch up on some things i had missed 11) What country do you live in? Down Under Australia =D

Yes, its called consultation and collaboration! Basically officially it is raising concerns to see if the pupil has problems/difficulties in other areas (academic and behavioural), this is to benefit and help the pupil. Other times its a general moaning, complaining, getting the frustrations out before going back into the classroom! Its the same as any staffroom. How many people who work in shops/stores, have a moan about other staff members and customers! Its okay as long as its the teacher isn't being nasty, improffesional or in public.

Sure we do... the good, the bad, and the ugly stories are all out there.
Try asking the question the other way around... do students talk about their teachers to other students? Sure they do!
When we are on cafeteria duty for instance we discuss things like why the heck Bobby can't keep his hands off other boys. Or why girls just have to use a cell phone to text message another girl in the same cafeteria sitting only feet away. (this is middle school by the way). Or, we wonder if the wizard will have a brain for Kathy when she finally gets to OZ. And we also figured out why some animals eat their young. What's up with baggy pants with the boys, they never heard of a belt? So why do they want their butts hanging out? Ever watch them try to run with pants around their knees? REALLY FUNNY! And, how about skaters, there's some idiots for you. Their vocabluary is somewhat limited... "yo, dude, sup?"
Ahhhhhh, hahaha! If you only knew what we do with our red pens, we can magically turn a "B: into a "D" We have points for good behavior and we have revenge for bad behavior. Say a kid is a stinker to old Mrs. Brady, we simple enlist the help of the P.E. teacher who makes them run a mile or 2. Or, talk to the football coach who goes to work on them. Run till ya drop boy, then it's push up time again.
Teaching can be so much fun :) and most kids are really silly, they think they are so cool, not realizing how we see them. Just a bunch of little tweets.

As a union rep I visit a lot of school staffrooms and they are the same as any other type of staffroom. All the usual gossip and moaning and groaning and criticising and...did I say moaning?

Of course they do, it's human nature. Do your colleagues talk about other colleagues, same style of questioning, the answer will always be yes, unfortunately.
P.s I hate gossips.
