At least 5 The body must restore itself. 6/7/ up to 8 hours might be better. Depends on how old you are and how much energy you are using up. For example an 18 year old needs a lot more sleep than a 50 year old. Young folk need a great deal more sleep than the elderly (the very elderly seem to sleep more than the young but they are not burning up energy the same way and they might just be bored without energy - a lot of seniors realize that & try to be active even if it's just a few hours a day). On the other hand an 18 year old can bounce out of bed, shower quickly, and be really bright eyed and bushy tailed. Quick nutrient shake & out the door in 1/2 hour or less.

I only usually seem to get about 5 or 6 hours....sometimes even less....and I always seem to "function" the next day....although I often feel that I really should be getting a little more so that I would be in a better mood instead of just "functioning"!
