Hi,

I started taking Seasonique in October, this will be my third month on it. I have read the side effects & realize that you do spot variously within the 3 month prescription. Can someone tell me how long this lasts for? I know it varies with everyone's body but when I was on the Depo Provera (the shot) ~ my GYN told me that you'll either get your period irregular, regular, or not at all, I didn't get it at all. The reasoning me taking the Seasonique is NOT to get my period for 3 months, as I was told that you do NOT NEED to have your period every month. I do spot pretty much everyday, I did stop spotting for maybe somewhere between a week & 2 weeks, that's it though. When I'm spotting, it's more of a brown discharge (sorry to gross you all out). Can someone help me with this situation? Thank you in advance!!!! :-)

I have taken the pill in the same way that Seasonique is designed and it took my body 6 months to fully adjust to being on the medication. One of the problems I had while adjusting was some bleeding and spotting during that time.

The brown discharge you are noticing is just old blood and this can occur as part of the spotting that occurs when trying to adjust to the medication.

I would recommend checking with your doctor to find out how much time you are supposed to give this pill before having to try something else to see what they say.
