Neither - use a little cash to buy a box of cookie mix and make everyone cookies and homemade cards for x-mas. It's the thought that counts!
No one wants you to go into debt for their gift, and everyone wants to know you thought of them for x-mas!

Decide how much you can afford for monthly payments after Christmas as you prepare your budget for the following months. Take that amount and do with it what you wish. Christmas is Christmas - the day Jesus was born, the tree and presents are just trivialities we have thrown in over the years. Caring about people is what it's really about.

I don't think charging gifts is a good idea. You pay for it longer than the receiver will enjoy it. Unless of course you are charging to purchase Wii's and iPod's. Go Green and save your plastic for an emergencies. Happy Holidays!

If you are talking about presents for adults, go w/o presents. If they dont understand, they are not worth it. If you are talking about presents for kids, do as much as you can. They will not understand and no child should be sad on chrismas.

If you do use your credit card for gifts.Pay them off quickly.Interest rates will kill you. It's better not to though because it usually ends up in more debt than pay.
