Well, according to a recent poll, he would lose to ALL of the Democratic front runners. While that is happy news to me, if you are a Republican, you may want to look for someone who wouldn't lose to Hillary by 10 points, Obama by 15, and Edwards by 25.
Of course, this is just one poll, but I doubt it's dramatically off.

A few days ago, I even said that if I had to vote for a Republican, I'd vote for Huckabee. In light of some of the recent stuff that's come out about him, however, I think I should rescind that remark.

Who knows.
The more people really listen to what he has to say and get his stance in context.
He will do well.
So you think that lieing under oath and smearing victims of sexual harressment wouldn't have any effect on those "indpendents"
The true indpendent will spend time to see where the candiate is at rather than listening to just the 30 second sound bites come out of Hillary's camp.... or Media Matters which are one in the same.

Anything is possible.
His position on Aids was back when we didn't know a lot about it and how it was spread. That was the thought back then (not that it was right, just what we knew). I don't think reasonable people should hold that against him.
As far as immigration, that could be his downfall.

I am a Republican and it turns me off, never mind independents.
No, he cannot win the national election (unless Hillary is the Dem nominee....then he has a shot...Republicans and others will come out in droves to vote for anything but Hillary).

no way - he will be eaten alive by democrats - he doesnt believe in evolution - he wanted people with AIDS to be quarantined (after it was well known it was sexually transmitted .1992 was well after reagan when it was thought to be transmitted by saliva ) -he has no problem attacking Iran without congressional approval - nationally this is a platform for disaster and it will finish tearing this country apart
