Full Moon is on the evening of 23 to 24 December 2007.

Waning means diminishing, so the Moon is technically waning immediately after the Full Moon. In practice, you don't notice it until a day or two have passed.

Therefore, the waning portion begins around 25 or 26 (and continues until you see the last crescent, usually 2 or 3 days before New Moon).

Before Full Moon = waxing (growing)

I agree, probably christmas. Sometime around there, give or take a few days after.
