After all it is the most important job in America and maybe in the world. Shouldn't we hold the president to the same standards as the American worker or are we willing to take our chances on another president who has possibly damaged his/her mind with cocaine and/or other drug abuse.

I Caldude I agree with that premise but as long as the citizens of this country are subject to drug testing should that work both ways?

Drug testing should be outlawed, period.

What you do behind the closed doors of your home after work, is your business and not the government's, nor your employer's.

Believe me, I bet that a lot people don't want the govt. nor their employer in the bedroom at night or snooping in their business outside of work.

Drug testing only reveals current use not past. If you are suggesting that only Americans who have never used drugs should be president I would disagree. While extensive drug use can damage brain cells, experimental usage rarely if ever does. In addition, some of the most brilliant men that have ever lived were themselves drug users. Einstein for example was a drug user. An aptitude test, not a drug test, however might help avoid the type of incompetency we are getting from the current administration.

a drug test wont show past usage... but would still be a good idea... I dont think any person running for president would be taking drugs while "applying" for the job.

Not necessarily. I do believe they should have intensive Psych tests though... Too bad that wasn't in effect before the current wingnut got elected.

He is truly mentally unstable and dumb as a box of rocks.
