You have an interesting twist on the city.
Boston is an odd bird.
You have the implants..the students that come from all around the globe to attend the ivy league schools...people that work for worldwide companies...that have all different size, shapes and colors.
That part of Boston is not racist..and is extremely overly-liberal.
Add the influence of the Kennedy families and the hyper rich liberals and artistic influence..that part of Boston is not racist.
HOWEVER
You do have the local flavor. The old time neighborhoods. It is not unusual to hear nothing but Italian spoken in the North End. Chinatown is truly Asian. Roxborough and Chelsea are what they are..there are Irish Neighborhoods, Polish, Black, Spanish...etc.
Boston is not so much racist as it is still a city of old neighborhoods where the residents still look after each other. They still bring chicken soup to the neighbor next door or shovel the steps of the old lady down the street. The kids still know that Mrs. McGillacuty will call them in to their parents for a butt whoopin' if she sees them smoking near the T.
So..I would say NOT a racist city: They are however a very arrogant, self-rightous and proud city...and HEAVEN help you if you move those chairs and take someones parking spot in the winter...your tires will be slashed and your car removed physically...and the Mayor will smile and tell you...
"Hey. It wahs sumones hahd wuck that shov-ved that hayvee snow. Yu shudda pahked sumways else."
And there will be a neighborhood behind him supporting him and the tire slasher!

You 've NEVER seen a black person in Boston??? Boston is cool its really mixed depending on which "neighborhood" you are in. Like there is lots of chinese in chinatown and italians in the north end and irish people in that other one, and mexicans in others and stuff. There are actually a lot of blacks in Boston too. Boston is a big city, buddy, you have to visit everywhere and there are actually a big population of African Americans. By the way, race is not defined by black or white. Its by a family, tribe, people, or nation belonging to the same stock. Look it up on webster. As for the sports, in the 50's and 60's a lot of the US was racist and the Bruins were very very popular then. And yes they were good.

I assure you that there are colored people in Boston, seeing as I'm one myself. It's pretty ignorant of you to say that Boston is a racist city. There are racist all over the world, even in Boston, I'm sure there are some where ever the hell you live.
When was the last time you visited Boston? There are huge Haitian, Cape Verdian and other communities in Boston and it's suburbs. Try opening your eyes.
And only an idiot would use the turn out at a sports game as
bases to judge whether or not a city is racist or not.

I would not say that all of Boston is racist. The city has some history of struggling with integration. There are historically black sections of Boston, many of which have high crime rates. There have also been allegations of racism by police.
Some blacks are well-educated professionals and live in very nice areas. My black neighbor has a master's degree.

I don't know if it's racist to say that, but you can't really call a whole city racist based on sports statistics.
If you never saw a black person while you were here, you probably weren't paying very much attention. There are plenty of black people living in and around Boston.

I hope you're joking.
Ever go to Jamaica Plain, or Hyde Park, or Matapan??? (ALL sections of Boston)
A few decades ago, there were supposedly designanted "White" "Black" and "Asian" parts of the city, like Dorcester, China Town, etc...
Black people are everywhere in Boston! They work in hospitals, drive cabs and busses, work for schools and public service. They're everywhere just the same as everyone else.
Boston isn't racist, and if you're relying on the race differentials in professional sports as the basis for an entire city being racist, I'm afraid you're sorely mistaken.
And just for shits and giggles, I saw in your name that you obviously root for the NY teams. Are you just an angry Yanks fan who's still upset at the fact the Red Sox won the world series?? ;)

No, it's ignorance. I have delivered many loads in Boston, and there are black people. Not as many as in Hartford, or Yonkers, or Philly. For some reason the further north the less black people you see. I see very , very few in Maine, but the experience of several black drivers I know show no more discrimination than any where else.

I am not sure if it's racist of you to say that, but you are generalizing, which can be just as harmful. You have a few examples of racism happening in Boston, but unless you have spoken to each and every person from Boston and they have all expressed their racist views to you, it is not fair to say that ALL of Boston is racist.
