Why should the seat be left down? Every time a man needs to go #1 he needs to lift the seat. If everyone left the seat up after using the toilet, it would be a perfect world. All users would know they need to remember to lower the seat if they were going to sit down. The all important fact is that when you have little boys or big boys (DAD) that think they can aim into the toilet and miss the seat or they just forget, it is already up.

well that does not happen in our house. This is usually what happens here, the boys go pee without lifting the lid, spray the seat and the girls sit down and take a bath!! Very upsetting!

You are lucky your son lifts the seat. My boys leave it down and get pee on the seat. I have had to many wet episodes in the middle of the night. Sorry about your daughter.

That happened to me many years ago when I was first married.
Men lift seat to go. Women put seat down to go. If everyone remembers that, then there won't be any problems!

This afternoon and coworker gave me grief thrice in a 10 minute era leaving me contained in the lurch attempting to reply to a switchboard with human beings all around doing Christmas charity issues and proper after the final time the telephone rings and that i answer with basically slightly rigidity in my voice and he suggested "do not sound so chuffed" so I suggested, "we will talk approximately it later", and we did. once I defined myself i became off the hook and the different guy became on it.

Yes happened a couple times here too, but it is better than peeing on the seat. Ya gotta teach her to look.

Oh yes! But I've learned that us women are kind of selfish in the toliet seat rule!! Because the men have to lift it why is it so hard for us when to make sure it is down and if it's not then put it down before we sit down!!!
