My question contained no profanity, nothing of a sexual nature, no spam.......it was just about the bad day I was having with my car and furnace breaking down. How could that offend anyone?

Well, I see it has happened to most of you. You would think the mods would at least look at the question/answer before making a decision. I did appeal it, so I'll see what happens.

My friend, most of us have all been there. I've had two violations one for just asking how everyones day had been and then one last week for saying Happy Chanukah to everyone.
Unfortunately thats the way this place is. I know for a fact your question wouldnt have offended me.

You must have a troll or something. Be glad, not only have I received violations for what I thought was nothing but I also got suspended for a question pertaining to downloading music and then I see the question on here again without violations or suspensions!!!
Consider yourself lucky that it was just a violation instead of a permanent suspension!!!

Not all violations are a result of being reported by another user.
Sometimes the guys who are monitoring our questions delete them without it being reported because they claim it violates the ToS.
I've had it happen to me before too.....and they never give you a straight answer if you ask how it violates anything.

I honestly think that some people make it their mission to go and click on random questions and answers, regardless of the content. Don't feel too put out, it happens to the best of us. See it as an initiation and you are now a fully fledged member of the club!!!

People report for the sake of reporting. They try to get you a violation warning, or better yet, a complete suspension.
People are pathetic. Ignore them. Keep answering!

get used to it... I got a violation for saying "yawn" to a poster who constantly rags on the McCanns.
You probably got violated for "ranting"
Yahoo really needs to hire new moderators. And I just happen to be looking for a job...

violations on answers are arbitrary and random. Most of em occur when someone accidently presses the "report" button.
answers staff does not actually read anything... they just remove what they feel like, because they feel like.
