Sounds like your house might be built on an ancient ritualistic burial plot where witches and warlocks were burnt to death. Hence you probably have evil demonic creatures hiding in the garden and slipping under your bed at night. You should really block all the keyholes and the sink drains before you go to bed at night. If you find slimy trails or signs of evil [scratched doors, dead birds, hooded teenagers etc] then you should get an estimate for an exorcism. Your local church and a good priest can usually do this for about $50. For $15 a month you can get a monthly checkup which includes water, paranormal detection and 3 blessings. Shouldnt take long - they are in and out quicker than carpet cleaners these days.
But i wouldnt delay too long...... its already getting quite late, you should lock your doors now......

The Rite of Exorcism (in many faiths including Catholic and Episcopal) is not meant to be performed on a house or any other space but upon an individual that is said to be possessed by demons/spirits according to strict criteria of the faith. (link below). Other ceremonies like the Rite of Unction can be performed when a person is struggling with illness (or anything else) and seeks help within their faith.
According to most faiths and spiritual beliefs one does not have to be in a time of crisis (or even something not right) in order to practice ones' faith. A priest will always be willing to bless a home (many Catholics have new homes blessed when they move in) and Wiccans will be willing to smudge/cleanse homes for you. Many people light candles with religious meanings. All of this is acceptable at anytime within the different faiths.

First of all, there are some rules that can help you to distinguish that you need to get an exorcism, in case that your house got an entity:
*the entity will be indefinite.
*if some people have an energetic overload and are always in the same place, this phenomena will appear frecuently.
*an apparition will be in the presence of many people.
When one or more of this conditions, maybe happen in your house, you have to investigate, and then, if you are sure that the place needs an exorcism, you could ask for one.
Greetings...

Do you mean a real exorcism (like in the movies), or might a simple energy clearing work for you?
I know nothing about exorcisms. If you are looking for the Catholic experience, consider burning candles, incense and cleaning the space with holy water while you pray.
If you're looking for an energy clearing, there are lots of ways to do it. You might look for someone in your town to help you - or just do some investigation on the Web.
I had a friend who does energy work clear my home - it can involve using salts, sounds, incense, burning sage, setting intentions, etc... And the difference was remarkable. People who came in afterwards (without knowing what had been done) talked about how much bigger the space felt. One couple even kept saying, "Wow. This place has such great energy."

1-Identify the problem.
2-When did the problem started?
3-Do a historical research about the place.
4-Did you make any changes in the place or something unusual start to happen after certain event took place?
5-If you are a truly believer of paranormal phenomena, search for professional help(if you can find a credible one).

an exorcism will only work if you believe in it. if this is part of your religious faith, then go ahead with it. it cannot hurt. i don't know what's going on with your house, but I'd be better able to help if you explained in more detail.

When your teenage daughter's head can rotate 360 degrees and she pukes green stuff allover you! That's usually a good time to start looking into an exorcism.

I think some people don't know when they're "possessed"...or being temporarily used by a spirit...because they usually think it;s themselves doing these things. Also, if you're a Christian, you might think it's the Holy Spirit...or a saint .or an angel...using you. This MIGHT be true...but then it might be something evil using you. Or, it might be someone "astral traveling" and making you do things.(I know the skeptics are gonna jump on this one!) Maybe they won't see my answer.

Thats easy, you never need an exorcism done on your house. Even if there is such a thing as spirits and such, there is absolutly no evidence to suggest that they are restrained to physical barries such as houses.
Houses do not become possessed and ghosts do not attach themselves to houses.
There isnt even any evidence that ghosts or spirits exist.

I agree when the tv starts talking to you, the projectile vomiting, and self-molestation w/ religious artifacts. Also, blood dripping down the walls, evps, and unexplained scratches, cuts, etc. appear on your body.
Usually I settle for cleansings, and protection spells.
