I almost fell out of my chair when I read this. What's wrong with these people? Do expect the world to buy this?

No, the comparison seems accurate to me. You ever read or listen to some of the stuf Ahmedinejad is saying?

Paraphrasing as I can not directly quote him...

A couple of nukes will destory Isreal. If the worl d of Islam has to absorb the retaliation and we can guarantee Isreal is dead, then that would be acceptable.

Tell me, how would you compare promisses of extermination tied to the direct and open preparation for it?

BTW, and US college engineering student can built an atomic weapon, Hiroshima or Nagasaki type, if they have the nuclear material. No one disputed that Iran is attempting to perfect the process to make the material. Even the NIE says this very clearly.

The only thing the NIE says is that Iran is no longer working on desgining the weapon. What the report may or may NOT say is that there is HIGH probability that I ran has already bought the design from Pakistan. (Solid evidence points to this.) OTOH, N. Korea's nuke was supposed to be based on this same design and it fizzled. (yes fizzled is a technical term) A bomb that fizzles could be a problem with the weapons design OR it oculd be a problem with the purity of the nuclear material.

Israel is apparently doing everything within their considerable power to foment even MORE unrest in the Middle East. Considering how much liver-chewing we've done for 60 years about coming into WW2 "late", (and thereby allowing 6 million Jews to be exterminated), they evidently feel all they need do is mention the Holocaust and American guilt will force us into yet ANOTHER pre-emptive invasion.

Facts are about as important to the Jews who claim this, is they are to the most rabid Y/A chickenhawk (what I refer to as a "Parlor Patriot"); in other words, facts have no place in this political realm.

Yes, it is way over the top.

I don't know why Israel expects the US to be at their beckon call, but it is ridiculous to expect the US to be responsible to solve all THEIR problems.

Israel is the preceived invader in the middle east. They are the ones who should be doing more to foster peace in the region, not the US.

edit: Bert, I've seen it spelled both ways and didn't know which one was right.

This isn't surprising. When you open up the rhetoric of WW3 like Bush has done, more rhetoric is soon to follow. His "Axis of Evil" thing woke a lot of people up, especially the Axis itself. No doubt we should be watching them closely but all this saber-rattling may cost us dearly in the end.

"It is predicted that Israel's arrogance & inferiority complex will cause its downfall. It's high time they reached out diplomatically & humanely to rival nations to sort out the mess Israel has created for many years, thereby achieving true peace."

Well, the President of Iran did say he wanted to wipe Isreal off the face of the earth, and that the Holocaust never happened.

well if you look at it through their eyes, they believe that Iran is building a bomb to use on them (ie kill all Israelis)

we knew Auschwitz was being built yet did nothing to check to see what was going on until we showed up at their doorstep and saw the death that was happening their.

so in effect if we would have stopped Hitler before he was able to get that far into his plan less Jews would have been killed.

As one that supports Israel, even I must say that assertion is bit far-flung; but Mahmoud's threats reads like Mein Kampf.

There is no "Eyes On" intelligence in the NIE report.

Therefore, the report is basically, Iran assuring us that Iran has no nuke program.

I'm all in!

LMMFAO!
