This is a matter of short term memory and long term memory and transfer of information from the short term to long term.

Our short term memory has the facility to hold only so much information much like a bowl. If you overfill it before the transfer you lose the content.

Try using some transfer techniques, these are instaneous transfers, that tag the new information to old information already in your long term memory.

Sounds like short-term memory loss, you know like pot-heads get.
The skills that you need to develop are called reading comprehension and retention, and as luck would have it these skills can be improved with practice. One source of help or advice might be a "speed reading course",because these are part of the exercises one learns.
Of course you probably won't remember this any way.

You remember all of it, you just can't recall the information. You'll recall the info if something jogs your memory. But you find it hard to recall info out of the blue. I have the same issue if I read something that really doesn't interest me or I may remember bits & pieces.
Just need to improve short term memory recall.

Probably ADD or something lol.

it's called comprehension but that does not apply to most media since it is very difficult to retain blatant lies also known as journalism
