Please help, this is an emergency. I need to make it asap!!

I need to make a girl coming out of a frame, like Phoebe makes in Friends. (lol). Its a gift for someone, and i need to make it within a week most.

I did already make one, but it was absolutely rubbish! lol

I need to know how to make a head, shoulders and arms??
Can i just roll news paper up into the shapes and then cover in white paper? But it wont be very smooth will it?

Please help, any ideas on how to do this?

I already have the frame, thats not a problem.

Thankyou.
Merry Christmas xxxxx

Hmmmmm... I'm not familiar with the "Friends" episode, but I can guess...

I would use extruded polystyrene foam blocks, and carve the figure. The material can be joined with low-temp hot glue, is EASY to carve, sand, and sculpt, and then cover with either spackle, plaster impregnated gauze, or paper-mache` (with additional white glue added).

Sketch out the figure in 3D, then convert to front and side views and mark on the blocks with a Sharpie and start carving!!

I've done almost 75 life-size or larger human figures in this fashion for stage props... some finished as marble or stone... and a few as "live" people "dressed" with clothes.

ANOTHER option, IF this is life-size, is to make life-casts of a friend with a body-cast kit, use this as a mold, and then FILL with expanding foam (in the spray-can).

GOOD LUCK & MERRY Christmas

Try paper mache. Use balloons of different sizes and blow them up to the size you need for each part. You can also use styrofoam balls in place of the balloons. Just make sure your pieces of paper are smooth over the balls.

Have you ever done paper mache? Dip newspaper in watered down elmer's glue. Then you can cover the form of the girl and paint her after it dries.

You can get sewing patterns for life size dolls that little girls can dress in their own clothes. Perhaps you could adapt the top of one of these.

I made one years ago from a magazine pattern for my stepsister but I am sure I saw one quite recently in a haberdashery shop.

What are you talking about ? You need to be just a little bit more specific and if I were you I would visit a local craft store.
