Let's use the recent Goregelican model: the far-leftists cannot domestically sway policy on global warming (now known as climate change; what a joke), so they've turned to that international body--the UN.
Expect the same on the issue of gun control. If the Second Amendment proves to be much too valued by the American populace, how long before Clinton, Obama or Edwards accedes authority to the UN?

I doubt that. Somehow guns must be kept away from the mentally ill, but I imagine it belonged to the shooter's father...an MD neurologist for Pete's sake who should have known better than to keep one around his son. That said, I'm sure that many will capitalize on the "God" connection in that more people were not shot to death. Since news reports suggest that the shooter was schizophrenic, I wonder why God did not act to have him hospitalized and treated with medication before he had a chance to get hold of a rifle.? As stated his father is a physician and apparently the young man (Matthew) had troubling symptoms for a long time. Since by all reports the family are VERY religious, I wonder where God has been hiding all this time.

The idea that liberals and Democrats all want to ban guns is either a product of your imagination, or of Fox News, or some other neo-conservative propaganda.
Deaths were prevented in some recent shootings BECAUSE guns are a right to own. Even liberal Democrats can admit that.

If they get their way,we'll look just like France or Germany,socialist to the max.
Only the government and rich Party members will have guns.
Taxes will be out thru the roof and we'll have 15-20% unemployment.
Like the EU,we won't have borders and illegal immigrants will flood the nation,making the situation worse as they demand housing,food,medical care and other services.
We'll all be jammed onto public transportation to save the enviroment and that means the end of the automobile industry and millions of jobs.
Add in the million or 2 jobs in the firearms industry,hunting supplies and services and you start to get real problems.
Forget the BILL OF RIGHTS,that will be history.

Yeah, when the government comes to take my guns is when the revolution begins.
Additional Dialectic: the dems are not trying to take away all guns yet, but they are trying hard to get rid of as many guns as possible, or make it so difficult to own a gun that only criminals will have them. Just look at Washington DC, no guns allowed, and San Francisco is trying to do the same, both are liberal democrat run cities.
If everyone could carry a gun then the country would be much more polite.

Well, somebody should push for more gun control.. I don't care who it is. This is getting more ridiculous every day.. and all I hear Americans saying is that" we should all be able to arm ourselves" What kind of world do you want to live in. Do you want you ten year old carrying a gun to school to be safe. It has to stop, and it is up to the government to do it.

You gun rights people need to let go of your paranoia.With few exceptions like the DC ordinance, nationally, liberals are not coming up with any gun regulation that comes close from taking guns away from hunting or defending your home.
