"They keep their rooms messy" So what? It doesn't hurt my parents in any way if my bed isn't made every single day. I clean up after myself in every other part of the house, but my room is my personal space and it doesn't need to look like something from Better Homes & Gardens. If me cleaning my room was important to my parents, I'd do it, but it's not, so why bother? "they swear" Again, I'm not sure how that indicates that they're spoiled. Homeless people swear. "Most of them have parents that love them and each-other." With a 50% divorce rate, I kind of doubt that. Everyone has problems, and you shouldn't decide people are spoiled brats just because they have a couple nice things. If people can afford to spend extra money on their kids, they usually do. Yes, there are absolutely spoiled kids. But I really don't think it's anywhere near *most* teenagers, and a lot of this just sounds like bragging and stereotyping. If you live in a developed country and have a laptop, you're rather privileged, just like me. BQ: Probably a 7 or 8. I'm 16 have a job, but I'm saving most of the money for college. My parents buy my clothes at Goodwill and pay for my school supplies, but I don't get an allowance and never have. I have a laptop but no cell phone. I pretty much wear the same jeans and sweater every day. I don't do many chores because my mom doesn't work and she does a lot of stuff during the day. I'm an only child, so there's no one to babysit. I don't drive, so that's not an expense I have to deal with. I love my parents, I'm grateful for them, and I know they make a lot of sacrifices for me, as do most good parents.

Considering the living room is usually the first room that visitors see, I try to keep it tidy. Let the kids have some toys there, but teach them to put things back. Trust me, it will be a learning experience for them when they are older. It saves time that you/they waste by looking for things.

My son is 25; moved out but wants to 'just leave a few bits here mum'.
Where did that mountain of stuff come from?
LOL, maybe living rooms were meant to look like an extension of the Oxfam Charity Shop!

Oh yes! My nephew and niece seems to be the only one who can keep their toys in their toy chest. It doesn't work for me no matter how much I beg, and cajole, and plead with them to stay inside their toy chest. I think they dont listen because I dont play with them. ESPECIALLY the teddy bear! He just has a mind of his own!

Do you want to have a picture of a living room, or do you actually want to LIVE in your living room? Don't sweat the clutter too much in the living room, be happy there are people living in it!

Teach your children to clean up their toys when they're done and before they go to bed.
