If I can just get that through to one person I'd be happy. The pull-out method does NOT prevent pregnancy. Are you surprised about how many people think that pulling out prevents pregnancy?

And after reading a lot of these answers I'm still stunned at the lack of information some people have about this. NO it's not effective! Go back to sex ed!

I am well aware that this so called method doesn't work as a birth control.. It shouldn't even be called a 'method' lmao..
Seems from some of the answers... some people STILL don't get it!

"it is bad if you don't pull out on time" ... HELLO! It doesn't matter! Men CAN'T feel pre-***.. THAT is what gets a woman pregnant with this "method".. NOT the fact that the man doesn't pull out quick enough...
Some people need a tad more ejamacation. ..

I have 2 favorite " Obama-isms " 1) In 2004 when Obama told the Chicago Sun Times ' I have just been elected Senator and know that I will not have sufficient experience by 2008 to adequately function as President , therefore I will not run for President in 2008 " 2) In 2008 when Obama said in a campaign speech ' The US is one of the greatest nations in the world and together we can change that ! '

Yes, I'm aware that the "pull out method" does not work. Learned it in 9th grade Health Class, which now seems so long ago.

Yes, I'm surprised how many idiots there are out there who think it really does prevent pregnancy.

Yes, if done correctly it does lower the chances of getting pregnant than the guy just finishing in the girl. Of course there is still a chance that some sperm will get in and the girl can get pregnant, but the chances are still lessened. With perfect use, the chances of getting pregnant are 4%, only 1% higher than a condom. The thing is, most guys don't have the self control to be able to do it effectively. I'm not saying that this is a good method, but just that you have your facts wrong.

What's even worse is that some school systems still teach the "withdrawal" method as an effective way to prevent pregnancy!!!

The pull out method worked for me for over a year, it was the, "Oh it just felt to good to pull out," that got us into trouble. If the pull out method is done right everytime than it is very effective but still not 100%. The problem is most people get too into the moment and how good it feels and don't realize at that moment they will be feeling it everyday for the rest of their life and it won't always be so great!

I love my baby girl (due March 14th) dont get me wrong but I my partner and I got too caught up in the moment and will be in for a the change of our lifes for that few seconds of how good it felt!

a little surprised about the number of people who think it does

A little of the trouble causing White fluid always escapes before the main event - resulting in many pregnancies every year

very true. it only takes ONE of them millions to make a baby. and even though the man is not yet reached climax during the session, small amount of semen gushes out from the penis. think volcano spewing a little lava then... Then... THEN... Boom! eruption.

today, i think there are more people understanding the uselessness of the pullout method in preventing pregnancy. but its kinky. no?

For some reason, I doubt the people that need to read that aren't paying attention. It would be nice though if they understood the facts of life a little better.
