Raising teenagers. VERY SCAREY!! Still scares the hell out of me. Probably will for several more years until their minds return to normal and they realize their mortality.

Getting rear-ended by a gas tanker at the bottom of an overpass when I was 17, back in 1981. I remember seeing the front tires of the truck against my driver's door as it scraped down the driver's side of the car. It was a Plymouth Duster that I was driving, I believe. On my way to the river with 4 other people in the car. Other than a few scrapes and bruises, we we're all ok.
I am still nervous when I'm beside a tractor-trailer of any sort on the highway.

This probably isn't quite what you had in mind...but one of the very scariest things I can remember going through was being very ill with an intestinal obstruction when I was 18/19....I have had many stays in hospital in my life, but this was one occasion when I seem to remember I was more scared than ever before or since. I spent my 19th birthday in hospital. I received a lot of good medical attention when needed, though....and 11 and a half years later, I have no more worries on that score.

A few years ago I was in an accident with a semi truck and had to be life flighted to Denver and spent 3 months in the hospital. I had broken ribs- ruptured spleen, many broken bones and quite a few stitches to boot. I came very close to dying due to internal bleeding. I remember it like it was yesterday and I remember how much it hurt and I also remember opening my eyes and seeing my son there next to me crying and so scared............The thought of leaving him all alone in this world was the scariest part of it all. it made me fight even harder to recover. Still on a winter night when I see a semi headed my way I panic a little inside and my heart skips a beat. It makes u think about what really is important in life.....your family

Giving birth to my Triplets and not knowing if they or I would make it. It was a emergency Csection my BP has shot up and they had to take them 2 months early. The same day I was discharged from the hospital (having to leave them of course) I had a "very bad" feeling. Those feeling that you know that you know. I am gonna be back up here tonight. Something is going to happen. So I kissed them bye in the NICU and did what I had to do. Go home! At 10:30pm I got a call they told me one of the triplets was bleeding internaly they did not know why and needed me up there ASAP to sign paperwork for auth to do surgery. Mind you I had just left them "less than" 3 hrs ago. I come in and I see one of the boys. 2 identical boys and on girl btw. He only weighed 2lbs his stomach was BLACK and swollen the little thing looked pregnate. I signed the papers. And found the nurse that I had left my babies with and popped her in the face! Apparently they had found out that Chase's intestines were not developed enough for food yet. And these retards would just feed him more and more makeing the problem worse. Waiting those 2 hrs for him to come out of surgery was probobly the scariest think I have had to endure. I will never forget when that doctor came out his name was Dr. Charles Johnston I shook his hand and when he told me he was going to make it. I collapsed onton him I asked him if I could just look at both hands he put his hands in front of me and I looked at the palms of his hands and prayed God bless that man. Those were the hands that saved my little boy. Chase is good and healthy now BTW. Yes It still scares me the thought of losing one of my children scares me straight!

The fire works! They blew up on the ground just yards from where we were viewing. I feared for those close, I feared for my kids. I was terrified for nearly 30 seconds hoping the larger kids were following me and the younger ones as we ran for shelter with hundreds of others. I have suffered from anxiety attacks caused by loud bangs and sudden flashes of light. Not good when you live in the lightening capital of the US. There is a lot more in my 360 blog about that night.

My daughter collapsed and stopped breathing in my arms when she was 11 and was having complications from her tonsillectomy.
The paramedics couldn't even get a blood pressure reading and she Care Flighted to the hospital.
We had to follow in the car...
And yes, this will still scare me like nothing else.
She is almost 16 and doing great now.

In Korea, when an enemy shell hit our bunker, and a piece of schrapnel cut my jacket. Just a little to the right, and bye, bye.
