i want to tell my partner that i love him, but i dont want to say plainly ' i love u, '

is there any other way i could put it to him so that he knows.

Sometimes its all in the actions. U can be told each and every day that u r loved but its all the little things that really let a person know they r loved! Tell him that he is everything to you. Tell him he is more a part of you then even YOU are. Let him know u feel incomplete when he is away from you. Show him thru actions. Warm him a towel up in the dryer so its all toasty warm when he gets out of the tub. Send him a heart shaped pizza to work for lunch. Send balloons to his work. Tie little coupons to his antannae of his car so when he goes to leave for the day its the first thing he sees. There r soooo many ways to show it! Good luck to u and Merry Christmas

It's always best to be direct and to the point so there's no misunderstanding. If you really loved him, you wouldn't have a problem saying those words, I wouldn't think.

This is what you call a 'CRUSH'. Fly him a note or something or maybe pretend to be 'innocent' while your friends set you up for a meeting at the park/etc.
