A while ago, I posted my resume on an online site, and about 2 months ago, I received an email from them saying that their database had been hacked and they had obtained people's resumes with email addresses. As a result, I keep getting "job offers" from sketchy people / companies that can hardly speak English. Today I received one from Great-Game LTD. Anyone ever heard of them? Here is the website. Thanks!

website is registered in Beijing, China. Would not open for me.

China has plenty of somewhat shady companies that play online games to amass virtual [ingame] items for sale to first world customers for first world cash. However, I can't imagine that one of them would offer any position to a non-Chinese speaker since their game play style uses groups of characters to undertake dangerous tasks and commo via online chat is important.

This type of operation is legal in China but usually banned by the online game companies -- which results in the characters being regularly terminated.

I'm sure there are other online Chinese outfits with questionable businesses -- online gambling, for example.

Send no money, an honest outfit doesn't ask prospective employees for "application fees", etc.

And be very careful. If you're asked for banking data so that you can be paid via direct transfer, I think I'd open a new account with a minimum deposit at a local credit union and give them that information. [And strictly prohibit any and all EFT funds withdrawals via the credit union.]
