The Honda Civic type R.

It is somewhat fast, and very light. The great thing about it though is that it's a hatchback and it's a Honda so you can fit a whole bunch of your friends, and it's cheap.

what do you mean racing, autocross, drag, professional? Where are you in the US. If so the Civic type R never came, ok now if you are racing how fast you wanna go, any model is good, CX is probably going be the best choice for being the lightest in the 1999-2000 model. Look into a K24 swap if you can afford it, look into boost see you need more info out there cheeze frog google him had a 1996-2000 hatchback, gsr swap and turbo built motor of course race against a viper(mid 10's) and won, so there is potention just your wallet, e-hatch.com

Go to a good SCCA racing school (like Skip Barber) and learn to control a vehicle properly. The EK9 Type-R is naturally front-biased, so it puts the most wear on the front tires. A more suitable vehicle would be front engine rear wheel drive (FR for short), such as an AE86, S13/S14 or FC/FD. Doing so leads to more even tire wear, which directly affects how fast you can corner.

none that exist right now, or ever for that reason.. it is not a sports car.. get a real sport car and modify it...or just save your money and invest it a scot trade and be a day trader..for the money you will spend you can invest the money instead of blow it on a car...
