Kinda funny you mention that!
I actually read a paper a few years ago that the current warming trend started with the domestication of livestock - essentially, maintaining herds of herbivores, much greater than what could naturally support themselves, produced enough methane to start global warming... and the livestock population today accounts for more than 47% of what was thought to be purely industrial carbon emmissions!
So... yeah. Could be.
