Each has their positives and negatives Apple uses a different operating system that really has much better file compression and is usually much safer and reliable than Dell.BUT it is overly expensive. Dell follows the mainstream operating system by Microsoft which has many bugs and can ruin your idea of the computer BUT it is much more popular and well known. so the answer is Dell is better because nearly everyone is familiar But Apple is better for large computer number crunching.

Apple is more reliable because it has been around longer than Dells. I have an Apple and it works good and it still runs as fast as it did the first day that I got it which was 3 years ago.
