I always get what I want
for my wants be small
a smile, a touch
a look that cares
sometimes I want a listening ear
most of the time I want to give
to show the world what lies within
I want to make children laugh and show them
that when the wind blows, the trees really do dance
I want to see the stars in the sky
I want to see them in someones eyes
when they look at me
I want to raft the river wild
so every summer down the Tuolumne I go
but most of all I want to be
the happiest me that i can be.

Only if it is something I can give myself. If it is something I hope will be giving to me by others then absolutely not!
There is a Rolling Stone's song that has these lyrics in it...

not all the time.. after you move out the parents/guardians house, the you have to rely on yuorself to support what you want to hapen and all that
