Actually, they are my husband's aunts and uncles. They always make fun of me because I like hanging out with their kids (who are younger than me by 2-10 years, they are all different ages.) I was never close with my own cousins so I like hanging out with them when we go out to parties and such and so does my husband. The aunts and uncles always have the same boring convos, don't get me wrong, I don't avoid them at all cost, we hang with them too for a bit, then we go and sit with the kids lol. Why is that weird to them, is it because I'm married?

Hedda, well I am younger than my husband by 6 years, I'm 22, so some of my cousin (in laws) are 12-13.

It's probably becuase you are an adult hanging out with kids. It's just normal for the adults to hang together and let the kids play around. That being said, I'm the same way as you. I prefer to spend time with the kids at our family get togethers. It's just more entertaining and the kids like hanging out with their uncle.

You state the "kids" are between 2-10 younger than you and your husband. That means they are adults too so why would they make fun of you when they are within your age range?
Sounds to me like the aunts and uncles are jealous that you're not spending more time with them hearing about all their aches and pains, and downing the neighbors.

silly rabbit, I too enjoy hanging out with the kids more than the adults. When I go for barbeques with families, I leave the adults and go join the kids. I have more fun with them.

Because unlike you...they've lost the kid in them.Keep hanging with the cousins...if it makes you happy who cares what they think.Hanging with younger folks sometimes helps you remember what it was like to be that age and makes you feel better too.

My best friend is 3 years younger than me. (A guy) Age doesn't matter. Your friends with somebody because you can tell them anything and enjoy their company. Not because they are the same age as you.

You enjoy spending time with the children, nothing wrong with that. Most parents are grateful when another adult is enjoying spending time with their child so they can enjoy adult time.

i like hanging out with my cousins one mainly and we talk and text all the time my dad thinks it wired i dont think it is if your friends your friends
