Quiet but pleasant sends nonverbal confirmation of confidence, kindness, and lack of arrogance. Their mouths never precede them. It's so nice to see and I wish sometimes I was like this more frequently.

It seems to me that quiet, pleasant people subsist with a minimum of drama, which is a quality most of us respond to favorably so long as its doesn't drop off the charts to the level of subservience. When a quiet, pleasant person is also confident and interesting, then that someone is likely to be a terrific companion and friend.

I have a friend who fits this to a T, I just think the world of this lady, she is a nurse with six kids, she has two in high school the rest are on their own, her husband doesn't work, don't understand that, he just stays home and prays in their basement, very Christian family, but odd just the same, so she is the bread winner, she works at the assisted living home, and at the hospital, she is always working how she keeps such a sweet disposition I don't know but she is amazing. I have on one occasion seen her snap at our nurse manager and it was not pretty, but as fast as it came it went, back to her sweet self.

"Calmness is the voice of the convinced. Loudness is the voice of those who want to convince themselves". -I don't recall who said this but it sure seems awful true most of the time.

Though loud people can be more entertaining, I think they use drama as a substitute for truth, self-betterment, and courage a lot of the time.

The quiet ones are the ones you have to watch.. they may not be very vocal and verbal, when when they have something to say, watch out, because their piece of minds are not vulgar, but yet deep enough to get in to the deepest part of your psyche..

this may be a accepted subject. i think of of Pagliacci, the clown who cries in his aria: Recitar! Vesti l. a. giubba. to accomplish! positioned on the gown. The gown, of direction, has a double meaning. We conceal our fears and sorrows in the back of the gown of a grin. There are some burdens that would desire to be carried on my own and all we are in a position to do is sympathize and console.

You mean the 'Strong and Silent' types? Yes, their allure is too powerful to resist. You are attracted to them as you find them mystical, you really want to know more about them. In fact we want to break their mold to see what is deep inside....

Our mouths never precede us because we watch what we say before we say it. (no offense)
We know how to put ourselves in the shoes of others & also in my case I do unto others what I want them to do unto me (from the bible =] ).
