I was cleaning my computer last week and have inadvertantly done something to my Samsung DVD Rom SD 616T and Samsung CD R/RW, my computer is no longer recognising them it keeps saying missing or corrupted Code 39 have tried uninstalling them and putting them back but it doesn't help

Follow the instructions on the following page, and make sure you follow them precisely as it means editing your system registry file.

Have you tried physically removing them? You might have pulled a ribbon cable a bit or got a mucky contact. If the fault came directly after cleaning its more likely a hardware issue.

Click on start/control panel/device manager/dvd & cd drives. right click on dvd & cd drives. restart your computer. Windows will detect and re install the drive and it's driver and it will work fine.

try using your computers recovery program. Choose a date just before you made the changes and it should be ok.
