i personally am terrrified of clowns. to me any weirdo that wants to dress up like that and hang around little kids all day is creepy and i want to be no where near them. and also when i was around 10 i was at a carnival and i got lost and a clown said he would help me but instead he tried taking me to the back of the carnival. thank god i was smart enough and walked away. they are CREEPY!!!!! its not so much the clown but the ppl that want to be clowns

Possibly because when they were little kids, a clown scared them. Also, we don't know what's behind the clown face, do we? It's kind of scary and mysterious at the same time that they can be funny.
(and yes, the cleavage is an undesirable statement unless of course you want to be known as "The Rack")

If you grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois like my mother did and John Wayne Gacy killed your brothers best friend you tend to have some fears of clowns.

I'm afraid of clowns... have been since I was 11.. am now 26 & it's all thanks to Tim Curry !!
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people were afraid of clowns after seeing this movie at an age they probably shouldn't have =D

I am terrified of clowns. I think it has to do with a grown adult hiding there identity to act weird and ridicule others, and play with children. There is something wrong with that.

i do- i'm petrified of them. I freaked out at the circus with my niece last month when the clown came up to us. Don't know why i have such a phobia of them but have done since i was very young

well all you have to do is see the movie IT by stephen king and everytime you see a clown you will get freaked out. clowns are just that freaky
