I live in a low income housing community, where you have to make under a certain amount in order for you to qualify for an apartment (no, not section 8)- it's just apartment's for a lower amount, based on your income.I got a notice saying they were going to 'audit' my apt. what does that mean exactly ? Are they going to review my apt? Or are they going to like examine EVERYTHING ? are they going to go through my drawers & stuff like that ? scary.Ive got nothing to hide, but still it's a little invasive ya know ?

It means they are going to check your apt to make sure all the appliances and such are working and that all is in order . Nothing to worry about really . good luck and God bless.

Well first off, they have no right to go through your things with out a warrant. Also, if you are in a low income apartment and they are going to audit you, it probably means that they want to review your financial information. Are you close to the end of your lease? If so this may be why they want to audit you. I have several friends that live in low income apartments here in Louisiana that have strict policies for admission, but once you are in you can make as much as you want. This may be the case for you too. Ask around, see what your neighbors say. They might have received the same notices in the past and know what it means. If all else fails ask the management. If they want to see your bank statements and you currently make to much to live there try opening another checking account at a different bank and put a little bit of each check in that account to make it look like you don't make as much money.

The may actually want to say 'you're beautiful' or 'you're very pretty' but he may also be very shy and instead say 'you're cute' because he may be afraid of rejection if he throws around compliments so easily. On the other band he may say 'you're cute' because of a certain way you smiled or something about your eyes that made his heart flutter and his head spin while at the same time sent a flood of blood rushing through his pants. So he says 'your cute' when he really wants to say 'you're so damn hot!!!!!'

I think that they just want to make sure that you really are low income, that you are not just taking advantage of the program. That only the people you have listed on the lease is living in the house. Ask your neighbors if they received the same note. If you don't have anything to hide don't worry, I really doubt they will search into your drawers or personal stuff.

Since you have to qualify they might just be checking out your apt to see exactly how much it is worth vs. what you are paying and how much more they can rake from you or the government to cover the rest? They might be checking for items against their policy like pets or so. I would call them up and ask.

Per my understanding they check the basics of your apartment but do not do an intimate search. That is a complete invasion of privacy. It will be not be detailed as that just a general check of your place to see if it meets standards.

It usually means they're going to check that everything is in order ... not your personal belongings but the structure of the building etc.

I would guess they would want to check you're still looking after the place. Check your contract and see if there's anything they might want to throw you out for!
