..your heritage as a white American? It seems that this gonzo society recognizes only the pride of gay, black, hispano, native American, asian, etc but the white people are conspicuously left out of recognition..why ?

CESARE...You have the taint of white supremacist in your cogent and truthful answer, given the fact that 'thumbs down " out number "thumbs up" I'd say that the folks don't like your answer, not even a little bit...truth is hard to bear for many people and your answer was as truthful as sunshine.
HOWEVER...the supremacist undertone is exactly what the others wish to see so they can cry..."See? They're all racists...burn them".
I agree to what you wrote, but remind you that the white race is a blend of cultures whereas the others are not.It is that 'blending' that is the white man's strength, the ability to use any strength
of one culture and apply it to another to achieve the desired result.Indeed, the white man did the bulk of building civilization as we know it,but 'he' did so by using all the ingredients and making the end product his own.

I'm white and I'm proud of my heritage. I think there is beauty in every race. My beauty just happens to be porcelain skin, blue eyes, and light brown hair. I have two absolutely BEAUTIFUL daughters who have the same skin and eyes. One is a brunette and one is a blond. They are remarkably beautiful and intelligent. I wouldn't want to change anything about my physical characteristics because it's God's work of art. That said, I've seen so many beautiful people in every race. I feel no shame in my pride because my pride doesn't take away from the beauty and value of others. Good luck. 2D

I think you are right. The White race, while made up of those from other countries around the world have developed their own heritage. I am certainly proud of that heritage, but like you feel like it is discouraged.
In past history there have been white people who sought to keep other cultures from emerging and that's wrong. However, it is just as wrong today for other races to try and supress me and my beliefs and cultures.

I'm very proud to be a European. I'm not American though. I think that showing pride for being white in the way that other ethnic groups show pride tends to make people think of stereotypical "white pride" groups like the neo-Nazis and the KKK.
I'm not saying that being proud of your European heritage makes you KKK but a lot of people feel that the connection between extremists and people like you and me (who are just proud) is close.

I'm white, I'm proud of it and I am exactly who God intended me to be. There is NO mistake what color you are born. We all should be proud of our color - I think the only reason others get recognized is because we are becoming so apathetic in what's happening around us. It is time to stand up and fight for what's right. Blacks are not the only ones who had it rough. Heck, the black man voted before the white woman did. There were more Irish and Mexican slaves than blacks. Killing babies via abortions is a crime against humanity and CHOOSING to be gay/homo/lesbian whatever you want to call it is perverted and against God's law.

How can I feel pride about something over which I had no control. It's not exactly an "accomplishment" to be born any color.
Any pride I feel is a result of things that I accomplished, through hard work and effort.

"White" is not a distinct cultural or ethic identity like the others you've mentioned.
I don't have pride in just being from among various groups of people of mainly European descent.
"White" doesn’t identify any specific group you belong to; it only identifies ethnic groups you don't belong to.

relax man, the fact that we would rather light a small candle than throw a parade to complain about the darkness is one of the things that makes us so prosperous (and yeah I know I ripped off a confucious quote, and he's asian, but you don't see asians running around complaining in parades either do you?

I'm white, but I feel no particular pride in it -- it's simply who I am. The best word to describe how I feel about being born white is "lucky"!
Later edit: I'm curious why this answer was given so many thumbs downs. If you're white, don't you feel lucky you were born white? If you're black, Asian, or Hispanic, don't you feel lucky you were born black, Asian, or Hispanic? Aren't you glad you are the race you are? These are not rhetorical questions -- I really want to know. If you want to give me an answer, please click on my icon and email me.
