you can do what you want, build what you want in the country and you do not have to worry about city ordainces. there is less noise,traffic, etc.

Living in the City (depending on the city): no need for a car, more diverse cultural diaspora, more recreation, more jobs, more open thinking, etc

Living in the Country: need a car, more of a monochromatic cultural breakdown, beautiful nature but less things to do, more of a conservative mindset, etc

one massive difference would be pollution in the city compaird to the country, the country is quiter n life doesnt go so fast
