THANK GOD FOR HALLMARK CARDS that say it so much better than my muteness can.
And like has been said, it's never too late, but the longer you wait the harder it is.
We all go through this, and so can you. But it's like someone said, When going through hell, don't stop keep going you will get through it that way. So don't sit in your shame or your guilt. We all do stuff, some 'worse' than others, but still make the move toward reconciliation. If the other party doesn't move, so be it. You are only 100% responsible for your 50% in every relationship. (a relationship is like a pie, both parties have half, and you are totally responsible for what you do with your half of it)
This is good practice because, as I experience it and observe it in others, apologizing, sincerely for my errors is something that goes on all of life.
Just be sure that you don't make promises you might not be able to keep. Apologize, be totally sincere, let the other person see you can feel their pain and why and then try to correct the wrong, replace the broken thing or fix it if you can, repay the money if it was money or work out a payment plan and stick to it, make a date and follow through if you broke a date, TELL the truth no matter how it hurts if you lied, you know, that sort of 'making amends' [changing your behavior].
This is harder if it is a child - just your actions over time will be the apology.
BUT GET THE BEST CARD YOU CAN FIND. TAKE TIME AND REALLY LOOK, THERE IS ONE OUT THERE THAT WILL PUT INTO WORDS WHAT YOU ARE UNABLE TO AT THIS TIME.
Blessings and peace to your heart. DO IT NOW. Just my opinion. :)

It is never too late to apologize if you really mean it. The longer you wait the harder it will be for the person to accept it.

ITS NEVER TOO LATE, being apologetic for something your really sorry for, means that you are a great human being.
Even if you know it wont work out in a relationship, saying your sorry can offer some closure, and even a chance to mend the relationship.
Its never too late to do anything positive.

No, it is never to late to apologize. If you can´t say it infront of that person, do it in a letter, in a email, with a flower or whatever. just do it if you feel like you should!!!
If you don´t you will regret it once , that you haven´t done it.
