No. He didn't get much more than the other two guys involved and he financed the whole thing. And even while on probation waiting for his hearing he tested positive for marijuana and had 4 other incidents that they weren't going to release, according to ESPN. The only reason that he is sorry for the whole thing is that he got caught.

Yes, but personally I was suprised it was not more. He lied under oathe, failed a lie detector test, and failed a drug test. His friends made a plea deal and still got the max sentence he got lucky with only 23 monthes. He might even have a chance at coming back when he gets out as long as he stays in shape. Tommy Maddox took 5 years off and he came back. Vick is a superb athlete with a bad attitude maybe this will help him get his head on straight.

I find what Vick has done to be reprehensible certainly but what I think is actually disgusting is the number of professional athletes with convictions for domestic violence who continue to play unfettered while Vick will likely lose his career over canines. Beat your woman, keep on playing. Kill a dog, game over. The math seems off, no?

He should have gotten more time, and you should help your son with a new role model. All athletes are not great role models, but if he loves football, there are plenty of positive role models for him to look up to. Michael Vick is not one of them. Not just for the dog fighting (Dog killing), but the lying (purgery), as well as his drug use.

I would have liked to see him get about 1000 hours community service working in an animal shelter cleaning dog cages in addition to jail time.

Yes two years is along time. He has been finacially devastated. His NFL career is over. He really wasn't a very good quarterback anyway and now after three season's off his career is definitely over. His life as he knows it is over. I would say when it is all said and done he will have paid a huge price for his crimes.
