There is loss of water in the radiator every morning. I just had a top overhaul of my 96 civic. Did hydro test and they said there was no crack on the cylinder head. I changed the cylynder head gasket. have the top resurfaced. But when i checked this morning after driving i again had to put 2 glasses of water to add to the radiator. What can be the problem? Is that normal?

It could be that you still have air in the system, probably from the heater core. Drive your car with the radiator cap off for half hour or so, then re-install cap. Usually any air in the system will be removed by then.. If water level still goes down, check for external leaks and then rub your finger around on the inside of your exhaust pipe. If it's wet, you may still have a head gasket issue (mixing coolant with compression) There is a head gasket sealant available at most auto parts stores that works pretty well. I've read that even at the factory they put a little sealant in the system. I don't know if this is true or not, but it probably is. Good Luck!!

Is there oil interior the water(after a short run it is)? if so the cylinder head gasket could be loss of life. Take it you have an electric powered fan, is that reducing in perfect? if its been 200km with the aid of fact the concern, save checking on the water point yet i might get your temperature sensor regarded after as quickly as achieveable. Thats the main inexpensive option first, get it fastened/replaced then you comprehend whether or not you ought to think of of a few thing greater severe whether it incredibly is definitely overheating or not. Water temperature sensors are regularly on a plug with a temperature sensor on one ingredient.
