favorite childhood memory of the holidays?? any fun family traditions?

I don't know that I have one favorite memory. I have several. I remember one year my brother and I turned 'Twas The Night Before Christmas into a skit and acted it out for our parents. It was silly, but we had fun. Another memory is of the mystery gift. I used to always wake up at 2AM to scope out the presents under the tree, to see how many I had, how big they were, etc. Sometimes I'd carefully unwrap them to see what they were then rewrap them... but that's another story. Anyway, one year I did this. I'd seen who was getting what presents. I'd seen evey present under the tree. I went back to bed around 3AM. I'm a light sleeper normally. I was especially so on Christmas. I got back up around 6AM before anyone else was up. I didn't hear anyone else stir during those three hours. When I went back out to the living room where the tree was, I saw a new present that was for the entire family. It was wrapping paper I'd never seen before or since. And I never saw handwriting before or since that was like the handwriting on the tag. Of course the gift was from Santa, so it said on the tag. To this day, I don't know where the gift really came from. LOL

I'm half Hawaiian and half Irish we dig a "pit' and roast a pig in the ground-for our Hawaiian tradition and we drink beer for our Irish tradition

When all of us kids would gather at the end of the stairway waiting for our parents to hurry up get down stairs and let us get to our presents! lol
