No, if he was captured by the Americans or British, he would of been put on trial and executed faster than Saddam, if the Russians captured him, he would of been tortured for a while, then executed with no trial.
Hirohito was just a figure head in Japan during the war, the Army and Navy controlled Japan, he had no real power. ( Like Britain today, the Queen is a figurehead, the Prime Minister has all the power)
MacArthur decided it would be best to keep Hirohito around after the war was over and America was occupying Japan. He could help the civilian population through the transition of American occupation. The Japanese people would of been very, very hard to deal with if Hirohito was jailed or executed. He was considered a God at the time. When Hirohito made the announcement, over the radio, to the Japanese people of the surrender, it was the first time the Japanese people heard his voice !
Tojo ( Prime Minister) was the mastermind behind the Japanese military, he was the one to be held responsible. He was captured,( he tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the heart, but he was just wounded and survived) put on trial , found guilty of 175 counts of war crimes, and executed by hanging in 1948.

This guilt that's ingesting you alive, is it from some thing you probably did on your previous? And do you proceed doing an identical action/s that has brought about you to experience this way interior the 1st place? If no longer, then you definately ought to recover from it (sorry for sounding cliche). while you're arranged to forgive your self, then right this is what I advise: get slightly paper and write down the wrongdoing(s) that are inflicting you this guilt. study it. . . a pair of cases, in case you ought to. Now this is on your EYES in basic terms!! NOONE desires to be sure what you have written! Now, take your paper exterior, AND BURN IT! Watch it burn. Watch how the fire makes your little piece of 'information' slowly turn to ash and blow away. long previous. And the only way it could come lower back to you is that in case you do it lower back. this might all sound so corny, yet think of roughly it. once you like somebody's forgiveness, you circulate to that guy or woman so which you're able to do/say although is on your heart. yet once you like your own forgiveness, there is no longer a actual action for us to do, so we do no longer something. via doing this - for me - it replaced into the thank you to ask MYSELF for forgiveness. i'm hoping this is clever to you, and that i'm hoping it facilitates. purely attempt it.

We treated the Japanese differently since their crimes were less well-known. Also, we needed some of the Japanese leadership to cooperate with us. We were already seeing the rise of Communism and needed Japan to be functional again and able to held us beat the Communists off.
It, unfortunately, was an act of necessity. We didn't punish people that deserved it because we needed them.
As for Hitler, no, they wouldn't have let him go, he would have gotten the same as some of his men.
