beautiful fantasy...
there are practices which allow you to get into contact with your 'totem', 'animal totem' or whatever you want to call it.
it might be useful - the borders are only the limits of your imagination.

Yes! I loved it:) In the movie, the animal companions were part of the people--their souls, if you will. I thought it was a very interesting concept.
I've always felt that my special animal companion was the cat. However, according to the quiz on the link that Jewel posted (good link, by the way!) mine is a fox. Which is a very cool animal:) I still think mine is the cat, though. Cats have always been special to me and highly prized.
Edited to add: You are very astute! :) Indeed, one of the 10 cats I share my home with is my familiar. I have a special bond with all cats, but this cat in particular is like a sister to me.

This movie was really cool! As far as the movie goes - the animal companion in Lara's world represents her soul. In our dimension, according to the film, our souls are on the inside. I was told by a friend that my companion would be a koala bear - not very cool but at least I am cuddly!

I have seen the movie. It was very good.
Many people believe there are animal spirits that accompany and guide them, although these totem spirits are not actually a part of them, as daemons are in the world of the Golden Compass. However, just for a lark, go to goldencompassmovie.com, and take the quiz there to find out what your daemon might be like.
Edit: The daemon represents that voice in your head that you're speaking to when you talk to yourself. Anytime you ask yourself a question, ("Chicken or fish for dinner?", "Does he like me?" "I this a good idea or a really bad one?",) it's your daemon you're talking to.

According to The Golden Compass website, my daemon is a ladybird... Not exactly the most majestic of creatures but I suppose it is at least modest. :P
I guess I'm just not schizophrenic enough as I really don't consider myself to be in two minds as humans and daemons are in His Dark Materials. I don't consider myself to have a daemon in a metaphoric sense, no.

I want to see the movie I'm waiting till it gets here. no but I do have some pets seven cats and one dumb dog. I love them all.
If I did have a creature like a demon I weren't know what it is since it must be invisible.

I have one, I've seen him often. It's a male green eye snow leopard called Aenad. Haha Darius, that's a good one. But I'm not as dirty or as filthy as you.
The movie sounds really good, but I agree the author shouldn't have said that or have intentions like that. I'm not religious or anything.

i rly don't see the problem......the pl said their going to kill god. remeber nicole kidman is catholic and shes still doing it. they rly can't kill god so geto over it....
