While I was growing up I was a bit smarter than other kids my age and it began to bother me because I couldn't find any friends that would tolerate my mouthy knowledge spewing (I would spout off random facts and stats about random things). Since then I've learned to control my nerd impulse but I work with children and I'm now able to identify that there are other's with my same dilemma (just in different forms).

Did you find it easy to be different from everyone else growing up or did you try your hardest to blend in and do you still do it?

[If anyone needs this to be cleared up some just email me. I apologize, it's early.]

I started college at 17 and had already had several college credits earned while in high school....It was then that I found it hard.....I was always younger than my classmates and it was not always the most pleasant.....My real friends knew there was more to me.....Sad part is that I burned out.....dropped out of college when I could do so without parental consent.....Hardly ever looked back.....Now, I like who I am even without a degree...
Peace.

I don't try to be different, I just am. I enjoy being different because even though I try to blend in sometimes the things that are different about me tend to make me stick out. :) if that makes any sense.
