If you want to report a case of child abuse, the body of your letter would contain the 5 W's and 1 H.

Who - who are the people involved - name the victim and the perpetrator and other people involved; include age, gender, address, etc.

What - what are the circumstances surrounding the case of abuse; what happened; what were the forms of abuse

When - when were the abuses done; give dates and time

Where - where were the abuses done; exact locations

Why - why did the perpetrator abuse the victim; why did the victim not report the abuse

How - in what manner were the abuses done

Christmas is in the air, and we are all in agreement!

Agree 100% with Papa Chuck who agrees with AREF agreeing to Annabel who agrees with Shirley. What better proof is there that great minds think alike.

What a beautiful world. For a moment, I forgot that the question was about child abuse!

I agree with Ms. Annabel - Miss Shirley has said it all.

However, it is advisable that writer be certain that the government official (not you, of course) is himself not the perpetrator. I saw this SOCO (Scene of the Crime Operative, temporarily hosted by Henry Omaga Diaz, about a family massacre. Seems the mastermind was the Administraive Officer of DSWD in that place where the crime happened, and he ordered the crime because he was charged with child molestation by that family.)

I fully agree with Aref H4, who in turn agrees with Annabelle P, who in turn agrees with Shirley G.
Shirley's answer would more than likely be the way to go but would the DSWD react in time to help the child, well, that's another question.

First of all, I wouldn't waste the time! Our government officials are lazy, indolent, and corrupt. They do nothing and any letter one sends usually sits in a pile on some fool's desk for ages.
Sorry for the negativity, but that's the truth of the matter.
