Let's say they did something bad. But they didn't kill anyone. Would you turn them in to the authorities?

I don't think I could ever betray my family like that no matter how bad their crime was. I would implore them to turn themselves in if it were really bad though.

What's more important: justice or family?

Depending on the type of crime, most likely yes.

It sounds really neat to be so supportive of family, but if you know a crime was committeed and don't blow the whistle, you are essentially encouraging that family member to continue committing crimes by your silence and "loyalty".

If this family member did something bad enough to think about telling the police, they already let you and the rest of your family know "you" didn't matter to them by committing this crime. They didn't care about shaming you and your family did they. So you are being loyal to what or who?

It would break my heart into a million pieces, but, yes, I would turn them in.

I would, however, never stop loving a family member - no matter how heinous or hideous their crime. Even if I wanted to stop loving them, I would not be able to. My love for my family members is so strong it is almost out of my control. That said, I would definitely hope that the punishment awarded to them fit the crime, and, if possible, that they would be able to be rehabilitated and re-released into society.

That would depend on the crime and whether they were a threat to the rest of the family or the public.

This is a tough one. One would be torn to do what is right. Is it to protect family or to keep the law. My contribution in this case would be that am not a law enfrocement agent. I am duty bound by morals to look out for my own. I would not report neither would I go over board to shield them.
