Which type of security?

Anti-virus: http://free.grisoft.com/ (AVG Anti-virus free edition)

Spyware: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/ (download Spywareblaster)

Spyware: http://www.lavasoft.de/ (download Ad-Aware)

Spyware: http://www.safer-networking.org (Spybot Search and Destroy)

I highly recommend using all of these programs together. All four of these programs are listed as being legitimate programs and are recommended from Microsoft.

Most other 'spyware' programs claim to prevent spyware, but in actuality, they install malicious code and are in fact, spyware themselves. I highly recommend only using these programs (for free versions).

Hope this helps.

As above, but do not forget a firewall as well ! I think you can get a freebie for one year - then you have to reinstall it. Google "free firewall" and look for a well known name.
