I enjoy animes quite a bit,but I have a major issues with characters I like being killed off. I get close to them, and then am left heartbroken when I lose them. I can't help but be this way really,as its just how I am. I have given up on finding a series im interested in that has everything working out for me in the end,so I was wondering if anyone else had similar problems like mine and what they do to get over things? I don't really cope well at all with it,and just cry alot. It ruins my good mood, and makes my day alot more down. If anyone knows a good way to help, please let me in on it.

Imagine they are in a better place when they die .... like an ANIME Heaven ... like Goku in Dragonball. I somewhat know how you feel ... i was really really bummed out when aries from FF7 died while i was playing it. I tried to search the internet for days for cheats not to let her die at the game.

Well, if your character is a major character, I suggest keep watching the story, who knows, maybe there's a flashback scene or a remembrance scene or even a revival scene.

However if there's nothing interesting in it left, then don't watch it.

If you want to get on without remembering the character, then I suggest doing something else, like finding another new character that you like.

Try finding a new character from a story where characters attrition don't exist or there's very little of it.

As for the comments by Bitter Guy.

Well, I kept playing since I know (hope?) that she bound to show up again in disc 3. Fortunately the story and the characters also remain interesting.

Though it did kinda bugged me enough that when Ameenah showed up in Star Ocean 3, I have doubt that about her survivability (due being a look alike, frail health, teaching Fayt more on mortality, etc). I'm sure Square-Enix have a certain part dedicated for dead flower girls.

I've had the same problem as you before, what I do to cope with the anime characters loss is watch Shojo anime.
Ouran High School Host Club and Fruits Basket are my favorites.
It's funny, and as an added bonus there is always a happy ending ^_^!

ok. i shed a tear when L from death note died. that was sad. yes. in about a day i was over it.

but when LIGHT died..... om my god was i crying!! he was the type of character who did really cruel things and still had me falling for him. i became so attached to not only him but even his (twisted) goals and dreams that when he died all i could think was, "its all over...."

especially in anime though. unlike a movie, youre watching the characters all the time, episode after episode. the things they do, their problems, their goals; it becomes as if they were kinda real....

this has happened in so many animes and mangas that i have lost count.... but everytime one of my favorite characters dies, or even a minor one that i have become accustomed to, i feel really sad......

i know how you feel....

its sad.
and then when you see them later on (like if their picture is in an anime magazome youre reading) you start to remember........

its tragic....light.....*sniff*

i think the best thing to do is really cry it out... well... thats really the only thing you can do... and always remember them.
(i sound soo crazy when i said that... but its the honest truth)

to bring up this topic..... who in an anime has died that made you really sad?

^^"

EDIT: oh... yes.... that is sad. i really cried when the hughes from FMA died. when his little daughter, elycia, started crying and saying, "why are they burying daddy, momma?" omg... i cried sooo much..... =' [

EDIT: just to add, i always kinda thank the character when he/she dies. like when *SPOILER* asuma sensei died from naruto... i was sooo sad... but i really thanked him for being in the show for at least as long as he was. naruto wouldnt have been the same without him

When you've seen close to 100 animes, you get used to it, lol. I will tear up on occasion tho, lol.
