As long as you don't dye your hair black, don't wash it for a week and let it cover your face, I'll think you'll be fine. I'm sure you'll look great! It's acutally quite a classic look.

Don't listen to these fashion less frumps that want to go out for the evening like they are going to the beach. Hosiery, and especially stockings never went out of stile for evening wear for the sophisticated people, and hosiery is in more this fall than it has been for years. If you are going to a formal affair, you can still wear the seams but ultra sheer black is the way to go. If you are going to a party, or a more gala event the pink stockings with black seams are great. I have even worn the kind with the full fashioned heel where not only is the seam black but the whole heel. Since I always wear real nylons with a garter belt, they are so sheer and elegant nobody can put them down, although they do cost $28.00 a pair.

Not weird at all. I think very sheer stockings would look much better than a high denier type though, so that some of your natural colour shines through.
Given that the dress has white lace on it though, I would be more tempted to wear a neutral shade of stockings. Have fun whatever you decide!

Sure, sure. Does your stockings have some sort of pattern on them? That would reduce the amount of solid black colors.
