Since this question is in the garden and landscape area, I'll answer along those lines. There is snow all over my lawn and garden, so I can't really do any gardening today and I'm just thinking about my plans for it. it's only 26 degrees, so I don't really want to be out there anyway. In one flowerbed, I recently planted all colors of Bearded Iris, some are the reblooming type. I also planted many many daffodils and some really cool tulips, including a frutillaria which I pray sprouts and blooms. The "blue" tulips will probably turn out purple, but whatever. I have a whole bunch of asian and oriental lillies and it's lined with grape hyacinths. I planted the real hyacinths in my back yard along the line of the lawn and the planter. There where about 75 of those. So the first flower bed had about 2 or 3 hundred bulbs planted in it. In the spring, I'll plant about 100 gladiolas and I'll be done with that one. Then in the spring, I'm going to tear out about 6 thorny barberry bushes and two holly bushes. We hate thorns. We are going to plant a groundcover of creeping wintermint and some heleborus bushes so we have winter color along with some small bush azaleas, hostas and probably some hardy cyclomen as well. Thos barberry bushes really need more sun anyway and they are just not very pretty like the rose barberry on the south side. Then the next year, I will work on the so-called herb garden and put more flowers in there and find a place for some hardy hibiscus and camellias. Other than that, I'm at work, normally working on marketing and other duties that need to be done here.
