This problem happens when i play hi-end games such as Hitman or PES2008.I can either play it, but when i move from screen to screen quickly in the game my PC shuts off OR even when i click to play the game my PC shuts off.

I have taken the side panel off and placed a fan next to my PC to keep the system cool but the problem still occurs.

My PC specs are: AMD3200 CPU 2.01 GHz with 1Gb Ram, Windows XP and the New 8600GT.

This issue started to happen after I installed the new graphics card!!

What should I do to fix it and are there any websites which could help me with this problem?

Cheers!!

Well first make sure you have installed the drivers for the card.

The next thing is could you tell me how many watts your psu has? You need a minimum 400w psu for the 8600GT, if your psu isn't up to the job then that is causing the problem and you should replace it or you risk damaging your hardware components.

When you run your game, it loads your CPU, and your new GPU. when that happenes, it starts to consume full power load from your Power Supply Unit.

Driver (software) issues usually results in system lockup, but not shutdown. A defective graphic card can cause strange problem too, but rarely a complete shutdown.

The first thing I would check is the power supply unit. You PSU may not be supplying enough power or it's probably failing, about to reach the end of its lifespan

Ensure that your PSU at least rated at 400W, and it must be real power, good quality PSU that can deliver power close to that. Cheaper, budget PSU often delivers 50% or less than their rated load. Beware of that.

you have a 500w ability furnish on your total laptop. this implies your pictures card isn't getting 500w. Its getting greater existence 250w. This sounds like your situation. good pictures enjoying cards require alot of ability. in case you underpower it, issues will ensue. The motherboard will commence assigning the pictures card greater ability whilst enjoying a sport. The motherboard then has much less ability to distribute to the hd, ram, cpu, and cooling fan. The motherboard then panics and grants the pictures card much less ability. The pictures card remains attempting to paintings on the comparable speed yet much less ability. Inevidbly it shuts off and your motherboard has to %. up the slack. As you recognize switching from no gc to gc demands a restart. Theres a reason of this. the laptop has to learn that's what your doing. whilst something by surprise stops working it shuts down. Its a ability clog. What i basically indexed above occurs in a fragment of a 2d. What you go with is a miles better ability furnish. look to ensure what all your aspects choose. upload it up. good success.
