Age has nothing to do with it, if someone was letting of stinking farts beside me I would not be happy, just because he's 77 doesn't mean he should forget his manners! though I was still PMSL!

I think the man is aware that he should try to leave the effort and is tellig the truth when he says he has lost some of his social graces since his wife died.Usually you can tell if you are going to pass wind so there really is no reason to expect that everyone wants to share in "your relief".It is good manners to excuse yourself from the area and discreetly do what needs to be done.Sometimes you can be caught unawares .It is also good manners to leave the table to blow your nose.I know this one man who is a regular "one man rhythm band" of disgusting body noises. He can do it seemingly on command which he seems to find entertainimg at the expense of others.

Some people can control it others can't. I can see both sides of this whip, but for goodness sake would just a quiet word with the old fella have been enough. I'd be mortified to get a letter like that especially when it hit the media.

I see the Thumbs Down Brigade are out early today !!

Oh dear I can see both sides as usual! On the one hand it can be offensive to others but at the same time some people do not have any control over when they are going to fart, especially the older ones so the poor man can't help it! He must be very embarrassed to receive a letter too.

Poor man, he can't help it really and we all have the occasional fallout-fart. The club had a duty to look after their other clients' requests and from a business point of view, it's better to lose one customer than about 5 or 10 or however many people! But having said that... Nobody stopped going to the club so it couldn't have been that offensive....

The committee were probably too embarrassed to ask him in person so they sent him the letter instead. It's a bit harsh in this case but having worked in a private club I know how bad some people can get.

Our committee did eventually have to bar one person because he was continually dirty and smelt bad (he asked my mum to take up a pair of trousers for him once and they stank, there were feces smears in them...)
When he was asked to clean up he got a bit aggressive so they had to bar him.

I'm not saying that this bloke is as bad as that (I feel a bit sorry for him actually) but if you get complaints then you have to follow them up. If some people are left unchecked then who knows how far they will go...

They clearly did not, or you would not post such a question.

I just found out that a person could rent DVD's online and I found a god place, but I was wondering where other people do it??

I got 2 free rentals from this site and thought it was a GREAT DEAL! And for 4quid a month I get 2 dvds, how much are you guys paying??

I am also 1 step closer to getting an iphone, so check it out yourself!

NO CONTRACT, just try out FILMLOVE for 2 weeks then cancel and you will be credited for the reference and you get to watch 2 dvds and an iphone!! My brother got one and I want one!

Ahhhh! he sits by the door as it is-so he is probably aware that there is a problem in the bum area !
If you know this man or this club -take a packet of charcoal biscuits down and leave them at the bar for him .
I wouldn't mind betting that it was smokers who complained -the ones who stand by the open door !

It is a kind thing to ask him out.

If it happened in Hong Kong during colony period under British Colonical Law, Police can put him under arrest due to his winding.

aw bless him...i mean it's only a fart for heavens sake, jeez if anyone farts alot...then it's me, i do admit it, but i would never upset anyone by letting off a huge blaster, but this guy is 77 and probably can't control it, some people eh...this question did make me laugh though, thanks for my morning giggles, i mean after all...it's only a smelly noise isn't it.....lol....

EDIT...one night i was out with my mates and the bar was packed, so i shouldered my way to the bar where there was a bunch of lads stood and after i got served i let out a sly one....ok i'd had curry that night, BUT (better out than in) RIGHT... anyway, as i walked away, the lads were all blaming each other...LMAO...and i just sat there giggling away to myself, they had no idea it was me...but it was funny watching them all blame each other....ll....

Poor thing!
How PC are we all getting against a 77yr old?!
At THAT age it`s hard to control.
He maybe takes medication that causes flactuance, (alot do)

Leave the poor guy alone, like the people in the club where he goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
