More like typecast me. I'm a mixture of Puerto Rican, Italian, Irish, and Polish and people shove the Italian thing down my throat (can't stand it). If not that then they get all over the spanish thing.
People just don't seem to accept me as a mixed latin/european mutt, and when they do its with disdain and not with acceptance, or they throw it away altogether because I am what I LOOK to them.
However, I've been asked if I were Russian (because of my first name), Greek, East-Indian, Cuban, Arabic or Filipino (though I don't get where the Filipino comes in because my features are light).
Ignorance in my opinion.

Oh yea....! So many times...
Some people think that I am Korean, some of them thinks that I am Japanese, some of them think that I am from Indonesia, some of them thinks that I am Singaporean.
My own teacher said to me, he can figure out where his students comes from.. but, he really don't have any idea of where I come from..

Maybe because, my great grandma is Dutch, and my dad is Chinese, while my mom is Javanese.. well, maybe that explains everything~ *LOL*

i've been told if I was mixed as in half hispanic/half asian, some people have told me I don't look mexican at all to them ???
and 1 time some guy kept insisting if I was from Spain?? That had to be the dumbest ? ever because I am actually Mexican ..I don't look much different from them and I do have spanish in me lol people sometimes

I am Cherokee and have been mistaken for Mexican.
It doesn't bother me. I like Mexican people.

ya people say i'm puerto rican all the time, i live an a place equally populated by mexicans and puerto ricans 50/50, and i cant understand it but people even the mexicans around here think i'm puerto rican, i go out with puerto rican girls alot, and they think i'm boricua and some people at skool refer to me as that puerto rican guy but then i tell them i'm mexican and their like "you dont look mexican" and i always say "why not" and the mexicans say cuz "i dress and style like them" and i guess to be real mexican you have to wear dickies and ****, but naw, the girls and everyone else think so becuase they say (and i do take it more offensively than a compliment) your too cute to be mexican, or your tan , but i tell them theres every type of mexicans, some of us are tan, some of us dark brown, some of us black, even some of us are pale white, same with puerto ricans

many say i am indian, egyptian, arabian or chinese mixed.
sometimes in fotos people will think i am white.
but guess what i call myself? i say i am a black woman.

Yeah im mexican but i have squinty eyes. So people think im indian. You would think i would get mad but i secretly use this to my advantage....
